A dress can be the easiest, go-to outfit. It’s one article of clothing that you zip or slip into, and then all you have to worry about is your shoes. The right dress can be glammed up for a night out, dressed down for a casual day, or properly accessorized for work. However, the right dress is – of course – going depend on what’s right for the woman.

When women sizes 0 to 26 try on the same short, black and white, baby-doll dress, there are mixed reviews.

The first concern is usually body shape. Shorter women tend to like shorter dresses to extend the look of their height, while taller women need to do the bend-over test, as one woman puts: “to make sure the goods aren’t showing – for free.” A women’s comfort in her go-to dress is also going to depend on curves and proportions. Some waistlines make us feel great from the front but no so much on the side silhouette. I’d venture to say that the comfort of the waistline and the freedom of movement is just as important as having pockets.

The right dress really comes down to comfort. Some women have personal preferences that are going to be far more important than how cute others say she looks in an outfit. Women shine brightest when they are confident and contented in their choices.
