Super Blood Moon

If you were lucky enough to be glancing at the sky Sunday night, you would have noticed that the rare Super Blood Moon was in full effect. Those who got a chance to see the moon witnessed the supermoon, which occurs when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit.

The event happened to be at the same time as the lunar eclipse, leaving the moon in Earth’s shadow. The two coinciding hasn’t happened since 1982 and will not happen again until the year 2033.

Many people were unable to notice the large size of the moon but it did appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than normal. For more details and pictures be sure to check out the video above.
