Sit down. Assume the position – clicker in one hand, cold beverage of choice in the other. Don’t move. This is your Saturday watching college football. Live it, love it, don’t blink.
This is the date everyone circled way back when, with high-profile teams colliding. It may be even better than anticipated. Pay particular attention to the SEC West, where six teams in the top 15 are doing business: No. 3 Alabama at No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 15 LSU at No. 5 Auburn and No. 6 Texas A&M at No. 12 Mississippi State.
The SEC provides most, but not all, of the fun and games.
WHAT ELSE WE’LL BE WATCHING:
No. 3 Oklahoma at No. 25 TCU: TCU is known for offense but its defense allows only 13.8 points per game and is fifth in yards allowed.
No. 9 Notre Dame at No. 14 Stanford: The Fighting Irish are unbeaten and two weeks away from a meeting with No. 1 (but slipping a bit) Florida State.
No. 20 Ohio State at Maryland: This is Maryland’s first home game as a member of the Big Ten. It’s Maryland’s first game this season against a ranked team and its first home sellout since Nov. 22, 2008 against FSU.
No. 10 Michigan State at No. 19 Nebraska: Another Big Ten matchup, with the Cornhuskers unbeaten. Michigan State’s lone loss was on the road against Oregon.
Today’s question
Which game or games will you be watching, and why?
