Attention, All Virtual Reality Users
Like many of us who have made our resolutions, Sony has big plans for 2018. The plan is to increase its PlayStation virtual reality gaming catalogue by 80%. What that entails is the release of an additional 130 games this year. That means gamers will have a chance to play from around 280 games by the end of the year, instead of the current selection of 150 VR games.
According to TechRadar, Sony’s VR sales have been slow but are still on track for major success.
“The growth to 2 million sales has been rather slow but the PSVR is the most successful high-end VR headset on the market by a clear margin thanks to its accessibility – the PS4 is currently the only console with dedicated VR experience and price cuts over the Black Friday and Christmas periods made it even more appealing.”
The tech giant has already sold over two million headsets in its first 12 months. Perhaps the addition of more games will encourage more buyers to buy into the VR world. It also helps that the headset’s price has been consistently dropping since its release. VR gamers, rejoice. It’s going to be a big 2018!
