Sonic Will Undergo Make Over To Appease Fans

Paramount released the trailer for the upcoming live-action film “Sonic The Hedgehog” this week, and fans greeted it with mixed reactions. After getting complaints about Sonic’s new look, the film’s director, Jeff Fowler, confirmed that Sonic will undergo another makeover.

“Most people recoiled at the sight of a disturbing, lanky CGI version of Sonic the Hedgehog when Paramount released its first trailer for the upcoming live-action film — and the studio has listened,” The Verge reports.

Fowler announced on Twitter that his team was taking fans’ criticism into account. Fans complained about everything from Sonic’s tall, skinny appearance to his “creepy” set of teeth. So far, the trailer has been viewed more than 25 million times on Facebook alone.

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast,” Fowler tweeted.

The movie, which is based on the popular 1990s series of video games released by Sega Genesis, is slated for release on November 8th, 2019. It stars James Marsden as a San Francisco police detective who works with Sonic to save the planet from the evil Dr. Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey.
