Google Map Spots Spy
Online conspiracy theorists are claiming that new pictures released by Google Earth are conclusive proof of a new ‘top secret US spy plane’ being hidden away in the Nevada desert. This comes just after someone thought that they had discovered a sunken mystery plane off the coast of Scotland on Google Maps. They hadn’t, by the way.
It’s also not the first time that people have claimed that they’ve discovered a hidden US military plane on Google Maps. So, the spy plane was spotted poking out of a hangar at a military base that – coincidentally or not – is about 70 miles to the north west of the infamous Area 51 base, that is synonymous with aliens, UFOs and the like.
Google Maps haven’t updated their satellite imagery for a long time, around a decade and if you had tried to visit that particularly dusty and featureless spot between the years of 2008 and 2016, you’d have seen just that. A dried-up lake bed and nothing else. Now, though, they’ve released the real pictures after members of the public demanded them. The pictures were uploaded on 31 October and show something blurry poking out of an aircraft hangar.
It’s not clear what it is, but it’s definitely proof that the US government is developing a new spy plane, or that aliens are among us, or that the earth is flat, or whatever. It has been blurred out, so that means they must be hiding something from us. But what?
In an explanatory video, the narrator says: “We don’t know what it is because they have completely blurred it out.” The video also helpfully points out that there are other military vehicles that aren’t blurred out. Yet more incisive observations.
