The Democrats in the House of Representatives launched an official impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump this week. Meanwhile, fellow Republicans are rallying to Trump’s defense.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, repeatedly called the charges against Trump a “nothing-burger.” Trump is accused of withholding military aid to Ukraine until the Eastern European nation agreed to provide him with dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden, who is running for president as a Democrat.

“Wow. Impeachment over this?” Graham tweeted. “What a nothing (non-quid pro quo) burger. Democrats have lost their minds when it comes to President @realDonaldTrump.”

Dan Crenshaw, a newly elected Republican in the House of Representatives, said he suspected the Democrats were launching the inquiry to help their own political prospects.

“This impeachment inquiry seems worse for Biden than it is for Trump,” Crenshaw tweeted. “Now the Hunter Biden-Ukraine issue is on everyone’s radar AND we know that Democrats overstepped with their ‘quid pro quo’ accusation. Have to wonder whether they did this to help Warren/Sanders..?”

Trump allegedly asked the Ukrainian officials to provide him with details about how Joe Biden pressured a prosecutor in that country to stop investigating Hunter Biden, his son, who happens to have business interests in Ukraine.
