Trump is going after San Francisco

President Trump says the homelessness problem in San Francisco is creating major environmental problems and threatened the city with EPA action if it doesn’t clean up its act.

The homeless population in California, especially in big cities like Los Angeles in San Francisco, has reached an all-time high as housing becomes less affordable and the drug epidemic leaves many individuals in crisis. The homeless in these cities have set up large encampments that have become breeding grounds for filth and disease, including long-dead menaces like typhus.

Trump visited San Francisco this week and said the situation is so bad, the only solution is to get the EPA involved and force the city to address the crisis in its streets.

“It’s a terrible situation that’s in Los Angeles and in San Francisco,” Trump told reporters. “And we’re going to be giving San Francisco—they’re in total violation—we’re going to be giving them a notice very soon. They have to clean it up. We can’t have our cities going to hell.”

Trump also blamed San Francisco’s homeless population for polluting the Pacific Ocean and nearby waterways.

“There’s tremendous pollution being put into the ocean because they’re going through what’s called the storm sewer that’s for rainwater,” Trump said. “And we have tremendous things that we don’t have to discuss pouring into the ocean. You know there are needles, there are other things.”
