NBC’s Hit Show Set To Renew For Three Seasons

NBC’s critically acclaimed drama, “This is Us,” has just been renewed for three more seasons.

“A lot of shows are being canceled, but you can’t cancel shows without also renewing others,” The A.V. Club reports. “According to Variety, one of the things NBC will continue to air is This Is Us, and it will continue to air for at least three more seasons. This is the second time the drama series has had a multi-year pick-up like this, with the network ordering two additional seasons after the first one was such a hit, and with the last of those wrapping up at the beginning of last month, it’s now time to lock it down for another few years.”

“This Is Us” chronicles the trials and tribulations of the Pearson family: parents Jack and Rebecca, who became new parents in the 1980s, and their now grown-up, adopted triplets, Kevin, Kate, and Randall. The show stars Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz Sterling K. Brown. The show has been a massive hit with Millenials, earning high ratings among the 18-to-49 age demographic. More than 8 million people tuned in for this season’s finale on April 2nd.

“The fact that I get to do this for three more years, to tell this story, with these people–I got the best job in the world,” Sterling K. Brown, who plays Randall, told “Today with Hoda and Jenna.”
