Grab Your Telescopes
There could already be an asteroid headed towards earth that could wipeout all life on the planet, but not if NASA can do something about it. The agency has officially announced the new grand challenge asking people to help find asteroids in the night sky.
But why now you ask? Well, a couple occasions have sparked their interest one being in February where a meteor exploded right over Russia, which was a huge wakeup call. It’s just a little reminder that we are not safe from asteroids and they do pose a danger.
The grand challenge will complete NASA’s recently announced mission to one day send astronauts onto an asteroid in order to study it. NASA said they found 90% of a near earth asteroids but they haven’t found all of them so grab your telescopes.
