Actress and director celebrate pregnancy announcement

Almost twelve years after the death of Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams is pregnant again, according to PEOPLE.com. Williams has a 14-year-old daughter, Matilda, who is Ledger’s daughter.

Williams’ new beau is Tony Kail, the award-winning director of the Broadway hit Hamilton. According to PEOPLE, Matilda is the one who set her mom up with Kail.

Photographers spotted Kail and Williams shopping for baby clothes at high-end shops in London. Kail directed Williams in Fosse/Verdon, for which she won an Emmy.

This is Williams’ first engagement since she was married to Ledger, who passed away from a drug overdose in early 2008. Last year, she spoke to Vanity Fair about finding love again.

“I never gave up on love,” she told the magazine. “I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes…I don’t really want to talk about any of it. But what if this helps somebody? What if somebody who has always journeyed in this way, who has struggled as much as I struggled.”

She also encouraged her fans to wait for the right person, instead of “settling.”

“Don’t settle. Don’t settle for something that feels like a prison or is hard, or hurts you. If it doesn’t feel like love, it’s not love,” she said.
