The Newest Member of the Royal Family Will Be Here Soon

Meghan Markle is getting ready to give birth to her first child, the next addition to the Royal Family. While the actual date has been kept secret, she will most likely give birth around the end of April or beginning of May.

As Meghan prepares for giving birth, she’s also preparing to break from a few royal traditions members of the family have followed. One of these is Meghan’s choice of doctor, who will be a woman.

While traditionally the Queen’s male doctors are in charge of birthing procedures in a wing of the St. Mary’s Hospital in London, Meghan and Harry have different plans. A female doctor will instead be leading the birthing procedures, with the Queen’s doctors on hand to assist.

These doctors have been present for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children’s births, and as such are part of royal customs that will remain unchanged. Meghan feels more comfortable with a female doctor in charge of the procedure, but she is as of yet unnamed.

The Duchess of Sussex has moved with Prince Harry into a house in the Windsor Estate, where the royal family has resided in part for many generations. This estate is a massive grounds about 25 miles outside of London, but most likely they will live in more than one location.

Meghan and Harry have asked that people donate to charities in honor of their baby being born, due to the fact that they won’t require any gifts. They’re hoping that people will focus their energy on those in need around the time of the baby’s birth, in a touching tribute to the new baby.

A Royal baby shower that is meant to include the public is going to happen sometime after the birth, called the Global Sussex Baby Shower. Their website will direct fans to some of the charities to which they can donate any “royal gifts.”
