Little Boy Saved Over 1,200 Dogs From Kennels
Everyone loves dogs, they are members of the family as much as anyone, and the idea of these canine’s being hurt is too much to take. If there was an award for the person that loved dogs the most, you would have to go some way to beat seven year old Roman McConn.
Roman has saved 1,200 dogs from being put down. After a visit to a ‘high-kill’ dog center with his mom, Roman was inspired to do something about this and has spent over two years of his life attempting to find new homes for these dogs. This has seen most of the dogs from this center being rehoused with loving families across the United States.
Roman and his mother Jennifer had picked up their pooch, Luna from this same center and upon seeing what was happening, they decided to set up a charity which is called the Project Freedom Ride.
The story gets more heartwarming, back in 2016 Roman was so upset seeing abandoned dogs in the center that for his birthday that year he asked for donations for the newly formed charity, rather than have presents for himself.
With the money that was donated, Roman was able to move 31 dogs across the country with them from Texas to Washington. Refusing to stop there, over the next two years there was a further 1,000 dogs rehoused with families or shelters in Texas.
The funding relies heavily on the donations that they receive, with the cost per transportation being around $11,000.
Speaking about the charity, Roman said: “We really enjoy it. I don’t know what my favorite part is, it is all my favorite. We would love, love, love your support.”
