Lego Tape Has To Be The Coolest Thing To Date
Lego fans are a creative bunch who know how to take those squared off bricks and turn them into creations that expand outside the lines. The Nimuno Loops project on Indigogo wants to put Lego blocks in all sorts of exciting places with a flexible Lego–compatible adhesive tape. The tape has adhesive on one side and toy block pattern that is compatible with Legos on the other side. It can be cut to any size and shape.
It’s easy to see the allure of Nimuno Loops and their ability to connect to your Lego pieces to walls, appliances, toys or even ceilings. The tape can be cut, bent, lifted up and repositioned. It will be interesting to see how well the adhesive holds up over time and through multiple sticks and re-sticks. The Nimuno Loops project ships worldwide and has so far raised over $12,500, ahead of it $8,000 goal.
Anine Kirsten, one of the creators says, “There’s such a big following for these construction toys because you’ve got people who have grown up with it.” She and Max Basler are industrial designers from Cape Town, South Africa and came up with the idea over a year ago. Nimuno Loops is not a Lego product, but is compatible with various blocks, including Legos, Mega Bloks, and Kreo.
On their website, Basler and Kirsten show the product wrapped around shoes, a plastic dinosaur toy, the rim of a sink, and on the handlebars of a bike. The popularity of the Danish Lego brand will certainly turn this tape into all the rage.
