Leaders Meet To Review Details of U.S. Summit

The North Korean leader made his third trip to China this week to meet with leader Xi Jinping, covering details of Kim’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The meeting consisted of Kim reassuring Jinping that North Korea is in the continuous processs of denuclearization, with President Trump giving security guarantees through this transitional period for North Korea.

Kim’s first meeting with Xi came earlier this year, being Kim’s first trip outside of North Korea as leader. More information on this development is to come as most of the details of his meeting will surface later, once the meeting concludes.

Xi gives praise to Kim for gaining security through the denuclearization deal, while the U.S. begins to halt military drills. Another detail of this meeting is to set up a lasting peace mechanism, there are few details of how this will be resolved with future delegations.

This deal is important for China because they are the important diplomatic and economic backer of North Korea during this transition.
