Courtney Wild Has Spoken Up And Wants Other Victims To Join Her
Courtney Wild, who alleges that billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually assaulted her when she was fourteen years old, is encouraging other victims to come forward. Epstein was arrested last week on sex trafficking charges.
“[Epstein] will never stop sexually abusing children until he is in jail,” Wild said. “We will not get justice until you speak out. You are not alone, and this was not your fault.”
Epstein has been convicted of sexually abusing minors once already. More than a decade ago, he cut a sweetheart deal with prosecutors that allowed him to spend only thirteen months in prison. He was even permitted to leave the prison five days a week to go to work.
When the case resurfaced this year, many victims’ advocates were outraged by Epstein’s original sentence, saying his wealth and ties to powerful politicians and celebrities allowed him to get away with a light sentence for egregious crimes. Senator Ben Sasse called for the case to be re-investigated. It was, and Epstein was arrested on new charges as a result.
In his first trial, prosecutors presented evidence that included voicemails from young girls telling Epstein they would “come over after school” or that they could not meet on particular nights because of “soccer practice.”
“As long as the victims speak up, he isn’t going to get away this time,” Wild said. “If you have already made the decision to come forward, thank you. If you have not, the time is now.”
