Smart-cars taken to the test

J.D. Power conducts in depth market research on new cars for their quality and dependability. Cars keep coming with a lot more technology built into them and a lot more for people to love, and the global market research company just completed their annual study.

J.D. Power’s annual Tech Experience Study surveys new car-buyers to figure out how pleased they are with their new ride’s new features. Then, the company gives awards to vehicles in various technologically awesome categories based entirely on customer satisfaction.

The categories that were analyzed in the 2018 study are as follows: entertainment and connectivity, comfort and convenience, driving assistance, collision protection, navigation, and smartphone mirroring. You know, all those things we’ll soon wonder how we ever, ever lived without.

Their research shows, “Two clear examples of technologies with rapid adoption are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, each of which are quickly becoming “must haves” for many consumers just a few years after their introduction.” It seems that automobile makers are being challenged to make their cars as smart as, or smarter than, their customers’ phones. The vehicle technology that is most rapidly adopted involves smartphone mirroring.
