However, she says that many people did not like her hair and made fun of her for it. However, she said that this is who she is and it is a part of her that she loves. GloZell was teased about her height. Everyone said she was too tall. It was a difficult time when she was trying to find age appropriate clothes and to not look too mature.

However, when it came time to be a cheerleader, she was the one who could hold everybody up. When asked how she stayed confident in school, Iskra Lawrence said it was a daily thing that she had to work on. She had to find little tricks and tips that got her out of feeling shy and insecure. She says you also need to realize that your value is so much more than what people think of you or what they see in you. When you know that you are strong and powerful because you are you and no one else can be you, you realize that you are really special. Own who you are and be confident in yourself.
