Witnesses set to tesify against Trump

Beginning today, House Democrats are holding open hearings as part of their impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Witnesses will testify about Trump’s wrongdoing during a phone call to the Ukrainian president. During the phone call, Trump allegedly threatened to withhold military aid unless the Eastern European nation provided him with information damaging to Presidential rival Joe Biden.

The hearings were arranged by Rep. Adam Schiff, D-CA, who is head of the House Intelligence Committee. The hearings will start with testimony from William B. Taylor Jr., an American diplomat to Ukraine, and George Kent, an official from the State Department.

As the hearings began, Trump took to Twitter to defend himself, calling the impeachment inquiry a “show trial” and a “witch hunt.”

“The circus is coming to town. The corrupt, compromised, coward & congenital liar Adam Schiff Show on Capital Hill, brought to you by his raging psychotic Democrats & the top allies in the Media Mob. Everything you’re going to see in the next two weeks is rigged,” Trump tweeted, quoting Fox News host Sean Hannity. “This is a phony showtrial. There is zero due process, none. It is yet another fraudulent hoax conspiracy theory. It is another Witch Hunt. This is what the Socialist Doemocrat Party has become.”
