After all the game-changers, The Browns lose their first game

After being hyped as a new-and-improved team, the Browns disappointed their fans by losing badly to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. In fact, fans booed the team at halftime and began leaving early when they saw where the game was headed.

“For the first time since, well, ever, the Cleveland Browns entered an NFL season with Super Bowl hype. Baker Mayfield was coming off a historic rookie season, and the team added Odell Beckham Jr. The hype was REAL,” Andrew Joseph of USA Today wrote. “With that kind of talent, you can’t really blame Browns fans for buying into the hype. But that honeymoon period lasted, oh, just about 30 minutes of game action. Sunday’s season opener against the Titans got off to a lackluster start with Cleveland heading into the locker room down, 12-6, at halftime. That was apparently enough to warrant a chorus of boos as the Browns left the field.”

In a post-game press conference, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, who threw three interceptions during the game, took responsibility for the loss. He vowed the team would regroup and return to the field ready to win next Sunday. However, Odell Beckham Jr. criticized fans for leaving the game early, saying true fans should stick out the game through a loss.
