New Scorsese Movie Called ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’
Leonardo DiCaprio will be teaming up with veteran director Martin Scorsese for the upcoming crime drama, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’
The film is based on the best-selling book by David Grann, and will be set in 1920’s Oklahoma. The plot will revolve around the Osage Nation, who became the richest people in the world following their discovery of oil under their land, before being murdered one by one.
As the death toll rose, detectives decided to look into what has been happening. They slowly unearth the chilling conspiracy which would go on to become one of the biggest and most monstrous crimes in American history.
However, do not get too excited just yet as production isn’t set to commence until the summer of 2019. The film has been in the works for some time however, with Imperative Entertainment acquiring the rights to the novel in 2016, soon after this DiCaprio and Scorsese became loosely attached after expressing their interest.
Scorsese will be producing the film alongside Imperative’s Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas, Sikelia Productions’ Emma Tillinger Koskoff, while Eric Roth will be writing the script. Scorsese has already stated his ‘excitement’ to be working with Leo again, they have already worked together on five feature length films since 2002.
Scorsese and DiCaprio have already worked together on ‘Gangs of New York’, ‘The Aviator’, ‘The Departed’, ‘Shutter Island’, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and ‘The Revenant.’ A pretty stellar back catalog for sure. Meaning that there is high hopes for this next project and I am sure that it won’t disappoint.
