The impeachment inquiry for Trump gains some traction

Many spectators are awed by the swiftness of the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House and the highest-ranking Democratic representative, allegedly told her fellow Democrats to “strike while the iron is hot.”

“Right now, we have to strike while the iron is hot. This is a national security issue … and we cannot let him think that this is a casual thing, so that’s where I’m at,” Pelosi told Democrats in a closed-door meeting, according to witnesses.

Trump is defending his innocence and questions the motives of Democrats. He calls the impeachment inquiry a “witch hunt.” The Democrats launched the inquiry after an anonymous whistleblower complained about a phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian president. According to the whistleblower complaint, Trump told Ukrainian officials he would withhold military aid unless they provided him with dirt on Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

“The Fake Whistleblower complaint is not holding up. It is mostly about the call to the Ukrainian President which, in the name of transparency, I immediately released to Congress & the public. The Whistleblower knew almost nothing, its 2ND HAND description of the call is a fraud!” Trump tweeted. He also called the Democrat’s investigation “The Greatest Witch Hunt in the history of our Country!”
