The 70th Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held over the weekend at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Emmy Awards honor creatives in 96 categories for their work in TV, movies, animated shows, short films, and documentaries. That’s why it took both the 8th and the 9th to hand out awards to the outstanding artists.

The 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be air on television this Saturday on August 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FXX.

Stacy Lambe of Entertainment Tonight writes, the awards were presented by the likes of Bryan Cranston, the Fuller House cast, James Corden, Jane Lynch, Lisa Kudrow, Molly Shannon, Padma Lakshmi, RuPaul and the hosts of Queer Eye.”

The creative work of these honorees have brought lots of people lots of excitement and joy. Some noteworthy and well-deserved winners were Rick and Morty for Outstanding Animated Program, The Crown for Outstanding Period Costumes, and Dave Chappelle: Equanimity for Outstanding Variety Special.

Game of Thrones won the category of Outstanding Production Design For a Narrative Period Or Fantasy Program. Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown – “Lagos” was honored for Outstanding Picture Editing For A Nonfiction Program.

These shows and entertainers were recognized for all their technical and aesthetic and dramatic elements.
