Action star wants to remake comedy classic

Chris Hemsworth, star of the smash hit “Avengers” series, wants to remake the 80’s comedy Three Amigos. He said he wants his Avengers co-stars, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, to play the other two amigos. Hemsworth said he was missing his co-stars after wrapping up the intense Avengers: Endgame, and wanted to remake a classic film on the lighter side this time.

“I would love to. That was so sad about kind of finishing Endgame, was just ‘Were we ever going to get to hang out again?’ And I immediately started thinking ‘What else could we do?’ And I’d love to. We could remake the Three Amigos! or something.”

The original Three Amigos starred comedy legends Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase. It followed the story of three actors, fired by their studio, who travel to Mexico to make a new Western film. Instead, the locals believe they are real superheroes sent to protect them from the local villain, El Guapo.

Chris Evans, Hemsworth’s Avengers co-star, said he likes the idea, and would love to reunite with his co-stars.

“We had too much fun together, and truly like kids in school, we were separated because we couldn’t get sh– done,” Evans said. “I would love to do one of those ’80s buddy comedies, where we could shed the characters we are known for.”
