Cardi B Indicted On Assault Charges, Upgraded From Misdemeanor

Rapper Cardi B was indicted in a New York courtroom on charges she assaulted two female bartenders in Flushing, New York, last year. Cardi B is facing multiple charges, including two felonies.

Cardi B allegedly ordered her entourage to attack two women, “Jade” and “Baddie G,” after Cardi got word that Jade had an affair with her husband, the rapper Offset. Offset is also the father of Cardi B’s infant daughter. Cardi’s entourage entered the club where the women worked and began assaulting them by throwing bottles and chairs. Cardi B is now charged with felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury. Other charges include misdemeanor reckless endangerment, assault, criminal solicitation, conspiracy, and harassment, according to TMZ.com.

Cardi rejected a plea deal that would have allowed her to plead to lesser charges, TMZ reports. But Cardi was ordered to stay out of trouble for a “conditional period,” and prosecutors say she violated that agreement. They would not elaborate on what she did to get herself in more hot water, TMZ reports.

The rapper is ordered to appear in Queens Criminal Court again next week, on June 25th.

Just hours after appearing in court, Cardi B attended the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Award in Beverly Hills with Offset, where she won the Songwriter of the Year award.
