If you thought horse racing was intense, wait until you hear about California Chrome’s co-owners comments after the race. Steve Coburn, co-owner of the horse is standing by his post race comments after California Chrome came in fourth place in the Belmont Stakes.
California Chrome went home to the West Coast on Sunday with no Triple Crown title and Steve couldn’t have been more upset, he even said “hell no” he is not taking them back. This is because he believes that the horses that ran in this race and the horse that won did not win fairly.
Steve stated to reporters “It’s not fair to these horses that are running to entertain these people in all three legs of the Triple Crown. It’s not fair to have somebody show up last minute and run. I may have gone off half-cocked yesterday, but that’s the way I feel.” California Chrome may have left without the Triple Crown but his co-owner sure struck up national media attention.
