Music Star Celebrates Son

Bruce Springsteen’s youngest son, Sam, won’t be following in his dad’s musical footsteps. Instead, Sam, the 25-year-old son of “The Boss” will become a firefighter in Jersey City, New Jersey. Springsteen’s wife of more than two decades, Patti Scialfa, broke the news on Instagram.

“CONGRATULATIONS…You followed your dreams…JC firefighter…Stay safe…love your brave heart,” Scialfa wrote.

Friends and fans congratulated Sam on his choice of career in public service.

“I have high regards for Bruce and Patti for raising such smart caring kids who are contributing to society in a positive way!” a user named gabbi_e_phillips wrote.

“Awesome news, as one who has several firefighter/paramedics in my family and friends, i have such high regard and respect for them. Congrats to Sam!” heidinjfl wrote.

Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa have two other children, Evan, age twenty-nine, and Jessica, age twenty-seven. None of Springsteen’s children have gone into show business or music. Instead, they had a relatively normal life growing up in New Jersey, where Springsteen himself was born.

Sam Springsteen scored exceptionally high on the civil service exam to become a firefighter, the New York Post reported.

“Sam was ranked 42 out of 961 on the Jersey City Fire Department civil service, according to records reviewed by the Post in March, qualifying him for the next class of plebes,” said the Post.
