NBA Team Makes Boy’s Birthday Memorable
For those of us that have kids, the worst case scenario must be that your son or daughter having no friends to come to their birthday party. Unfortunately this was the case for six year old Teddy from Tucson, Arizona.
Teddy’s mum, Sli Mazzini had organised a birthday party for the young boy at local pizzeria Peter Piper Pizza. However, after inviting over 30 of his classmates, none of them had bothered to turn up!
Sli uploaded a photo to social media and within hours, the photo had gone viral, with people from around the world posting comments to him wishing the six year old a happy birthday.
The news quickly reached NBA team, Phoenix Suns, who wanted him to celebrate his birthday with them. They offered him and his family tickets to their game against LA Lakers on Wednesday evening.
This was followed up by the team as they posted photos of Teddy meeting the players prior to the game starting. Along with this, Teddy was given a specially customized Phoenix jersey, while he was videoed giving players a pre-match talk.
Phoenix fans were supportive of the teams move to offer the child tickets, with one fans posting on Twitter: “I cried when I saw the picture of him sitting alone heartbroken at his birthday party. I am so happy to see that smile on his face.”
Another fan tweeted: “Awesome move Suns. Glad to see this story turn into something positive. Teddy will never forget this.”
Fantastic move by the Suns to make this little boys birthday extra special.
