Biden Will Reportedly Call Trump “Existential Threat” In A Speech

President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are both campaigning in Iowa today in advance of the Iowa caucus, one of the opening battles in the 2020 presidential election. CBS News reported that Biden will call Trump an “existential threat” to America after obtaining a copy of Biden’s prepared remarks.

“As he campaigns in Iowa, former VP Joe Biden plans to call out Pres. Trump as an “existential threat” to the United States, according to prepared remarks shared with CBS News,” CBS Evening News tweeted this morning.

Joe Biden is considered the front-runner for the Democratic nomination in 2020. He’s in first place in most polls, with most polls showing him well ahead of the runner-up, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Nearly two dozen Democrats are running for the nomination.

According to the copy of Biden’s speech obtained by CBS, Biden plans to slam Trump for his sense of privilege and his immature Twitter behavior, which includes calling political rivals “losers.” Trump has also nicknamed Biden “Sleepy Joe” on his Twitter page.

“If he was just another rich guy sitting in his gold-plated apartment in Manhattan tweeting about how those pointy-headed scientists don’t know anything, it wouldn’t matter — but he’s president,” Biden plans to say. “What are you going to do when your kids start tweeting like Trump and say, ‘Well, the president did it’?”
