Finally…Affordable Beats

The iconic Beats headphones, created by Dr. Dre is a subsidiary of Apple. Up until now, the headphones packed a hefty price tag punch. However, the new affordable Beats EP is a wired on-ear model that’s not only well-built, but delivers decent sound for the money.

While most of the Beats headphones are quite pricey – some can cost up to $250- this new version is a bargain at $100. While it is a wired model and is not as swanky looking, you will save a lot of money with this version. It does not fold up or look as flashy as the other models, but comes in a few color options (black, white, red and blue), has an iPhone friendly inline remote, and a flash friendly remote for changing the volume and skipping tracks.

You can make and receive calls without having to take your phone out. It is made of plastic, but feels surprisingly durable. It also comes with a simple carrying pouch. The earphones have comfortable cushioning and fit snugly, although they let in a bit of background noise.

They also have a clean and open sound with decent treble, and of course lots of bass (they are Beats headphones after all). You also get the classic B to show the Beats logo on the sides. As long as you don’t mind the wire, it is a good Beats bang for your buck.
