Remembering The Late International DJ

In memory of the late international DJ known as Avicii, his family set up a charity in his name. The Tim Bergling Foundation will support people with mental health issues and suicide prevention.

Avicii died last April at the age of 28 in Muscat, Oman and his family wants to make a difference to help people with similar strifes in his honor. The new foundation will also help with issues such as nature conservation, climate change, and endangered species.

His death was a result of suicide and the police say that there was no criminal suspicion over his death.

Avicii retired from touring in 2016 for health issues, suffering from acute pancreatitis. Though he retired from touring he continued to record and produce songs in the studio.

The late DJ was known for his chart-topping hits including “Hey Brother,” “Levels,” and “Wake Me Up.” Avicii brought popularity to contemporary electronic dance music, working with many artists including Madonna and Coldplay.

There are also rumors circulating that Avicii’s family are working on releasing a posthumous album of songs her was working on before his death. His family says that he was under a lot of stress and pressure of being a celebrity in the EDM community saying that he was an “over-achieving perfectionist.”
