Alan Wake Makes His Way To Television

If you’ve ever played the game Alan Wake (and you should if you haven’t), you’ll recall how the story was laid out not unlike a Steven King mini-series. This was an intentional move, as the game’s themes were meant to reflect those of psychological thrillers that King is known for. Still, it’s bit unusual for a video game to have “previously on” segments. It’d be more fitting for a TV show, right? Well, good, ’cause Alan Wake is becoming a TV show.

Remedy Entertainment is joining with Contradiction Films on a prospective Alan Wake TV show. Series creator Sam Lake announced that he has taken on the executive producer role. He’ll be teaming up with Peter Calloway, the executive producer for Legion and Cloak and Dagger, who will be the series writer and show-runner.

Calloway will be pitching the show to various networks in October. This will be the first time anything Alan Wake-related has come out since the mini-sequel game, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. You can’t even get Alan Wake on digital platforms anymore, so it’s good that people will be able to experience this story in a new way.
