Zero-Star Uber Service Story Goes Viral

A furious actress has shared footage of an Uber driver branding her and a celebrity friend “racists” and “crazy lefties” in a row over politics. Tara Strong was with friend Rena Sofer, whose TV credits include “24,” “NCIS” and “Two and a Half Men,” when the spat broke out in California.

Strong has accused the driver of shouting at her and nearly killing them by driving erratically after learning they were Democrats. Americans are voting today in the midterm elections, with the results set to give an indication what citizens make of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Strong, a voice actress on kids shows including Rugrats and Ben 10, posted the clip of the row on Twitter, calling on Uber to fire the driver. In it he can be heard shouting: “You are racist” and “You guys ruined America”. Strong can be heard saying: “I’m so excited at sending this video to your boss.” The driver responded: “Send it to my boss, let’s see.”

He then continued: “You guys are racist, you don’t let me have my own opinion. You want to get me fired because I don’t agree with you.”

“He asked what we were doing & proceeded to scream & yell at us & say we were evil racist demon crazy lefties. We told him we wanted to get out & he began driving erratically. We video taped his abuse.”

Uber were quick to respond. In a statement they said: “Our expectation is that riders and drivers respect each other’s differences. Disparaging language and discrimination are never ok. We are in touch with the riders and will take the appropriate action.”

Their idea of appropriate action is protecting the information of their abusive employee from other Uber customers and suspending the driver’s account while the investigation is pending. Though Uber can fire the driver for clearly assaulting customers, they rather protect the driver. This isn’t the first time Uber drivers have come under fire and will not be the last.
