Chloe Kim Wows At Olympics
As a teenager competing in the Winter Olympics, Chloe Kim had to sacrifice a lot to get where she is in life. And after winning the halfpipe snowboarding competition in Pyeongchang, South Korea, earlier this week, she might just be ready to go back to being a normal 17-year-old.
Kim’s family moved to California from South Korea in the 1980s, so during her competition at the Olympics, she wasn’t just embraced by her family but also some of the South Korean natives who also rooted for her as if she was their own. What a great experience for someone so young, and Kim is grateful for all that she has been able to do at such a young age.
But with success comes much sacrifice, and for this snowboarder, it meant missing things like proms and high school dances. Yet, as she admitted during and interview with ABC, it was all worth it for her and her family. During her interview with ABC, she was candid about her successes.
“I missed out on a few proms, homecomings, might miss my graduation,” she said, adding that she’d do it all over again if she could. “I wouldn’t want it any other way…it’s worth it.”
