Oscars 2018

The most talked about performance came from The Greatest Showman’s Keala Settle, who wow-ed with her vocals to “This Is Me.” Though the emotional and theatrical performance was the last of the five total performances, it debatably won the crowd over the most.

Of course Settle’s performance wasn’t the only one to remember from the Jimmy Kimmel-hosted event. Hip-Hop and R&B stud Miguel performed “Remember Me (Ernesto de la Cruz),” with Gael Garcia Bernal and Natalia LaFourcade, which was featured in the movie Coco. “Remember Me” ended up taking home the Oscar for Best Original Song.

Because the Academy Awards Show is known for its film prowess, often-times the music performed at the show gets swept under the rug. But at this year’s big event on Sunday night, the music performances may have stolen the show while bringing all of the A-list celebrities to their feet. The five nominees for Best Original Song graced the stage during the star-studded evening. The nominees included: Sufjan Stevens, “Mystery of Love” (Call Me By Your Name); Mary J. Blige, “Mighty River” (Mudbound); Miguel Featuring ft. Natalia Lafourcade, “Remember Me (Dúo)” (Coco); Andra Day Featuring Common, “Stand Up For Something” (Marshall); “This Is Me” (The Greatest Showman).
