It’s tough to decide what quantifies a good celebrity interview. For some, it’s when we can get a really deep insight into that person’s life and what drove them to do what they do now. For others, it’s when things go completely off-script and both the interviewer and interviewee just spend their entire time riffing off of each other.

For the former, I recall an interview of Christopher Walken I watched once. I was just trying to figure out where his accent came from, but I learned a lot about where he grew up, where his love of dance and acting came from and, yes, also how he got his accent. For the latter, in a more recent example, Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling were interviewed for the new ‘Blade Runner’ film, but the two of them spent almost all of their time giggling infectiously, to the point that the interviewer didn’t even care that they went off on a massive tangent.

I suppose it’s all about the celebrity’s state of mind on what they do. Some of them want to sit down and have a serious discussion, others just want to have a little fun.
