The one thing that Paul Wallace from “Supercars Of London” and Sam from “Seen Through Glass” have in common is that they LOVE cars! And when they found out that Michelin had personally invited them to go to the Goodwood Festival of Speed they couldn’t contain their excitment! The sound, speed, and aesthetics are what really drives their passion. And what’s great about these events is that you get to meet people who share the same love for cars and talk for hours with people who have those similar interests.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual hill climb that began in 1993 and has been around ever since. The event features awesome historic motor racing vehicles and the event is held in the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, England. the event is held in late June or possibly early July. The date is set when they know it doesn’t interfere with the Formula One season.
When Paul and Sam arrived they got to meet some of their biggest motorsport heroes: Rally legend Mikko Hirvonen, Le Mans legend Tom Kristensen and Motorcycle legend Freddie Spencer. They first met Tom Kristensen who literally is the most successful Le Mans racer EVER! And not only did they get to meet him, but also his awesome car collection! One of the most interesting facts was that once a car wins as big as the Le Mans, the car never gets washed again which shut down their question as to why his car was so dirty!
Another question they had was is it true that to have an advantage you have to be a small driver? And the answer is yes, not only do you have to be small, but skinny as well. They spend millions making everything light and strong. Within a team the first thing that the engineer looks at is the driver! And it gets even cooler. He even let Sam sit in the car he won his last Le Mans in!
And the fun didn’t end there! They got to meet the rest of the heroic drivers and the good times kept on rolling in…For more details and to watch the full video be sure to check out the video above…enjoy!
