Music is created as a universal language so that people from all different backgrounds and cultures can revel in the beauty of sound. It’s all about bringing people together, and showing the world that we can make a difference. That has always been Jeffrey Iqbal’s goal: showing the world unity through his music. Born in Delaware, this American-made singer realized his passion and ability at the ripe age of 10 years old. What captivated him the most, however, was the styles of North Indian classical music.
Transforming his own style with traditional South Asian music, Iqbal appeared on a talent hunt show known as “Sahara One” in 2007. He was hand selected by Indian composer A.R. Rahman to go on tour, and from that point on his career blossomed, allowing him to become the first American-born singer to appear in a Bollywood movie.
Now, he’s taking his successes and spreading them across the world, showing how people can unite through the power of music. His melodic tracks and stunning vocals can be appreciated by anyone who listens, regardless of nationality, identity, or any other label. After all, the most important people to Jeffrey are his fans, and that’s exactly who he created this movement for.
Take a look at just a small clip of his breakthrough work above, and be on the lookout for his debut album coming soon. We are just as excited as Jeffrey is to hear how the world will be united through his powerful vocals.
