“If You Drink Too Much Water, You’ll Drown”

Denzel Washington is a highly respected actor. He’s not seen in a lot of movies, but the ones he does star in are stellar flicks. And there’s a reason for that. As much as the spotlight can be great, the “Equalizer” actor thinks that stars who over-promote themselves are doing it wrong.

“You wanna keep a mystery, you know… Keep things quiet.” Washington certainly has this sense of mystery that makes him so respected. He understands that, as a top actor, the more movies you star in, the more people are going to get used to the same pattern, and the less likely they’re going to want to see you in movies. That’s why he compares acting and celebrity life to water saying, “If you drink too much water, you’ll drown.” Washington wants to stay in the spotlight without drowning in it, and we respect him for that.

At the end of his “Off Script” interview with Jamie Foxx, we get to see a clip of “The Equalizer 2.” This movie is the first time Washington reprises a previous role, as he is not normally a sequel kind of guy. And that makes sense, because he doesn’t want to oversaturate Hollywood with his aura. He’s one of the actors that should be saved for only the most prime roles, and Washington perfectly exudes that essence. With his newest movie premiering this weekend, we’ll get to see just what his action-packed prowess has to bring to the table.
